Tissue is delivered into a bag opening (2) of the bag. The bag opening is withdrawn back through the patient opening. The bag is sealed. The bag is inflated to create an artificial pneumoperitoneum that extends an abdomen and provides an additional working and viewing space. Laparoscopic procedure is carried out on the tissue located in the inflated bag by sealably inserting a morcellator into the bag. The tissue is retrieved by pulling the bag out through the patient opening. USE - Method for performing surgical laparoscopic procedure on a tissue i.e. uterus, of a patient by a surgeon. ADVANTAGE - The method enables safely reducing and removing the resected tissue from within the abdomen via small laparoscopic incisions, providing the bag that creates an artificial pneumoperitoneum containing a specimen, eliminating dissemination of tissue and cellular fluids within a peritoneal cavity and facilitating effective and safe isolation of tissue/organs within the artificial pneumoperitoneum for improved surgical procedures and safe tissue extraction by allowing the surgeon to concentrate on manipulation of tissue/material to be inserted into the bag without an added task of complex manipulation of the bag at the same time when the material is being manipulated. The method allows the bag to be deflated and removed with residual tissue/blood/fluids such that the tissue to be removed is retained in the bag, which prevents harmful material i.e. cancerous cells, from being released in the body cavity. The method allows a cuff to be provided with an axial extent, which maintains the opening in a fully open configuration such that the tissue can be readily maneuvered into the opening by the surgeon performing the laparoscopic procedure through a small opening.
