Abstract
Irish migrant integration policy has evolved in a largely piecemeal manner to date, but has been given fresh life by the publication of the Migrant Integration Strategy in 2017. In this context, we identified a need for a complete audit and review of the policies and strategies devised by public bodies in this sphere. This research aims to introduce an explicit human rights and equality dimension to the analysis and development of integration policy in Ireland. It does this, in three stages, by: 1. Outlining a best practice human rights-based model of integration; 2. Auditing the extent to which public bodies in Ireland have developed integration policies or strategies; and 3. Assessing the content of these policies against the human rights-based model.
