Abstract
P-Centres represent the perceptual moments of occurrence of acoustic signals and are an important parameter for duration modelling in speech synthesis applications. While a number of algorithms have been proposed previously to achieve P-Centre extraction it is shown in this paper that none yield reliable measures or are robust in implementation. A software only solution is presented which enables the rhythm setting experiment to be carried out in a reliable and flexible manner
