    Abstract

    Our purpose in this paper is to explore the roots of individual career productivity, in particular if successful individuals can mitigate the consequences of an unfavorable initial anchoring in their industry by engaging in subsequent proactive adjustment to achieve a high level of research productivity. Our dataset follows the career paths of 391 academics from 23 Financial Times ranked business schools from North America, Europe and Asia.
