    Abstract

This paper is conceived as a response of the authors of the monograph Domestic Judicial Treatment of the European Court of Human Rights Case Law: Beyond Compliance (KOSAŘ, D. et al. Routledge, 2020) to the reactions of the commentators in this symposium. We summarize the starting points of the monograph and develop some of the arguments contained in the book with regard to the comments of the commentators. The article reflects the remarks and key points raised by the commentators: in the first part, it is devoted to a more precise explanation of the methodological foundations of our approach to judicial treatment of the case law of the ECtHR, in the second part it considers in more depth how the comments of the commentators could be integrated, and then it opens a discussion on how to proceed in the research of the internal life of the ECHR and the case law of the ECtHR.
