    Abstract

This report provides procedures for estimating Qmed in ungauged catchments. Qmed estimation is especially important because Irish flood growth rates are very slow, making Qmed weigh heavily in the calculation of design flood values. The recommended procedure for Qmed estimation at sites for which there is no data is to use or transfer data from a nearby site, preferably upstream or downstream from the site of interest.
