Abstract
Tourism has been targetted by the Irish government as a sector offering good prospects not only of generating foreign exchange but, more importantly, of providing much needed job opportunities at a time of incessantly rising unemployment levels. Tourism has been identified in this respect both for its strong growth performance internationally and its labour-intensive nature.
