    Abstract

    Ground-based observations of infrared OH* airglow emissions made during the period February-October from 1999-2013 at Davis Station, Antarctica (68.6˚S, 78˚E) are analysed to construct a climatology of the horizontal characteristics of short-period gravity waves (GWs) and ripples near the mesopause (~87 km altitude). The main findings are as follows: 1. Two distinct distributions of horizontal wavelength were observed both obeying the relation
