Discusses several issues concerning problems in the acute hospital waiting lists of the Irish healthcare system. Public inpatient waiting list by specialty recorded at the end of March 2001; Percentage of people who believe that hospital care can be obtained more quickly in the private system compared with the public system; Systems issues in waiting list management.
