Abstract
Evaluation pervades strategy. "Strategy can neither be formulated
nor adjusted to changing circumstances without a process of strategy evaluation" (Rumelt, 1998:
91). It is to be found at the beginning, mid dle and end of the strategic management process.
Without evaluation, it would not be an exaggeration to say that strategy, in the sense of a
planned pattern to activity that defines the direction and scope of the enterprise, does not
exist.
