Abstract
This is a presentation from Mr. Joe Kelly, Manager of IRD Kiltimagh, Co Mayo summarising the inspirational story of a community's self-help process. This document is a case study in PowerPoint slides presentation with voice-over recorded in 2009. The story captures a rural area in decline that took advantage of the programmes available to it to regenerate its locality over a 20 year period. The Story is called “Turning the Tide”.
The case study is a very good example of community self-help, of resilience and of creativity. It is a good example of innovation in the face of challenge, and it is also a story of great ambition.
The case studies presented in four parts, each party building on the previous. The content was recorded, assembled, and edited by Michael Kenny.
