Abstract
This article examines how EU law considers the notion of 'worker' in the context of debates on forms of work (including platform work), which challenge the traditional binary distinction between 'employed' and 'self-employed' workers. In particular, the article analyses the European case law of the European Court and the Committee on Social Rights as well as national case law on the right to collective bargaining of self-employed workers.
