    Abstract

As it is known that the main preoccupation of the Enlightenment politicians was education, the same can be applied to the eighteenth century spanish ministers. If we accept that Charles the Fourth's reign is an epilogue of the spanish enlightenment, we will suppose that university reformations continued under his period. Narciso de Heredia was a university professor (in Granada) who has been mentioned as an example of his government's goodness by Godoy (the Royal couple's “favourite”). A study of Heredia as alumnus, collegian and teacher shows how a university career could be in times of Charles the Fourth. It also gives a practical and concrete vision of the political reforms' implementation.
